This friggin DUDE finally got fired and now can get some anger management. I am pretty sure I heard a collective roar of DUDE from the Baltimore area skateboarders!!!!
The Baltimore Sun is reporting that “Baltimore Police Commissioner Frederick H. Bealefeld III this morning fired the city officer who was caught on video berating and pushing a 14-year-old skateboarder at the Inner Harbor three years ago.
A department spokesman confirmed the personnel action but refused to comment further. The spokesman said the officer, Salvatore Rivieri, was told of the termination during a meeting with Bealefeld at 9:30 this morning at headquarters.”
As I wrote a while back…Karma is coming Officer Dude…Karma skateboards…
Renowned Orioles Fan “Boo Dat” rants about his dislike for the MASN promotion of the AT&T Player of the Game during the broadcasts of Orioles games. Also seems that Boo has a serious disdain for the Orioles broadcaster Fred Manfra. Ending each video rant with his trademark “BOOOOO” – Boo Dat is becoming pretty popular on Boobirds.com and Facebook.
“Boo Dat” – who wears a bag and feathers over his head looking like a disgruntled fan, the videos are pretty funny and at least worth a look and a different perspective.

The Baltimore Orioles finally lost a game under the management of Buck Showalter as they fell last night 4-2 to the Chicago White Sox. Now at 4-1 since Buck took over in the dugout, I think we can all agree the team has looked energized with the addition of a proven manager and reported taskmaster. I like what I have seen and have high hopes for 2011 and beyond.
Last night I was on youtube and was watching O’s related videos like Earl Weaver and the umpire, Wild Bill, press conference vid, etc, I came across a series of videos from an Orioles fan who calls himself “Boo Dat” – who wears a bag and feathers over his head looking like a disgruntled fan, the videos are pretty funny and at least worth a look and a different perspective.

The Baltimore Orioles held a press conference today to introduce Buck Showalter as the latest manager of this losing franchise. Before the press conference started it was announced that Juan Samuel chose to step down from the coaching staff and would in turn go to the Dominican Republic and check in on the O’s operation down there. I don’t really care about the Samuel situation one way or the other as he would have been gone at the end of the season anyway, just like the rest of the staff.
Buck has already talked about accountability which I think is key to a turnaround. As the press is now asking questions, Andy Macphail has a look on his face like he is worried about what questions are going to be asked and what the answers Buck may give…
Buck stated he will only have a say in player development, scounting, draft, etc to the extent that Andy Macphail wants him to be involved. Buck has stated on more than one occasion during this press conference that “we are gonna try to win games” as they are evaluating players for the rest of the year.
I was fairly impressed with Buck and what he had to say here today, sounds like there is a new sheriff in town, and if the players don’t like being held accountable for their play or preparation then they won’t be here for very long. Buck also displayed a fairly good sense of humor.
All in all – I have to say, I really like this guy and really hope he can turn thuis club around. Actions speak louder than words.
The Buck Showalter era starts with the Orioles coming back to Camden Yards on Tuesday. It will be very interesting to see how the players react to Buck and vise versa. I don’t anticipate any heated dugout exchanges, but I do expect a few players to dislike him from the start as I don’t think he will be anything like any other manager these dudes have ever played for in the Orioles organization before.
If I were Adam Jones, or Felix Pie I would do every thing by the book and make the special effort that shows I am trying to get better everyday. Pretty sad that this wasn’t going on already…
Hopefully Buck can bring some “Baseball Ubiquity” to these players and extract all of their potential out of each and everyone of them, oh and a few free agent hitters and pitchers wouldn’t hurt either!!!
If ya get a chance check out boobirds.com for some Orioles contests, rants, forums, and blogs.
Now that the Orioles have named Uncle Buck Showalter as the new Manager starting Tuesday, we can all gather at the OPACY to watch this team transformed into a contender….Now back to reality…
The hiring is a decent one in my opinion, especially given the other choices like Dempsey, and Wedge, but let us not forget it takes Players, real baseball Players to win.
Are the Orioles going to win 50 games in the entire season? My 13 year old son (Yankee Fan – go figure) made a bet with a friend of mine at the beginning of the season that the O’s would NOT win 60 games…I told him that night he better save his coin because they would win 60 easy, maybe not 70 but definitely 60…boy was I an idiot, and so was my friend…looks like my son will be cashing in soon.
The question remains, will the O’s win 50? Yes folks that is still not a definite thing.
The Baltimore Sun is reporting today that “An Owings Mills contractor who has offered the Archdiocese of Baltimore $700,000 to offset transportation costs for children displaced by the closing of 12 elementary schools has taken to the airwaves, encouraging families to take advantage of his offer.
He’s been on the radio before. Danny Schuster, owner of a concrete company, is well known for his advertisements protesting recent Catholic school closings. He has taken a different tack this time, hoping to boost enrollment by helping students get to schools, including Holy Angels, an elementary the archdiocese is opening this fall on the campus of Seton Keough High School. There had been some concern that there would not be enough transferring students to fill the school.
“Transportation can be a big stumbling block for many of these families,” Schuster said.”
I think this is a great idea and should help many families that were displaced by some of the Catholic school closings.
Local business helping local families…we need more of these kind of people in Baltimore!
This friggin DUDE needs to get some anger management. I heard that the review board cleared him of any wrong doing, but seriously, is this how we want our cops acting in this city? 100 bucks says he wouldn’t talk to this kids Dad like that…all because they were kids and he wanted to act big and bad. Karma is coming Officer Dude…Karma skateboards…
Last night a fan (Orioles I assume – he was wearing an orange shirt) ran onto the field not once but twice while the Baltimore PD walked around and waited for him to tire out I guess. This went on for like 3-4 minutes until finally the home plate umpire told the kid to give himself up…which he did. I don’t promote doing illegal things, but watching the video was funny, and the crowd seemed to love the action, cheering him on the whole time and booing the police when they finally arrested the trespasser. I think people love these type of things because its something most people would love to do, but don’t have the balls. As the O’s lost (again!) this was the highlight of the night for the paying spectators, players, umpires, and everyone else who was in attendance. You can see the video of the whole thing here…
